CES: Sony Adds KDL-70XBR3 70-inch 1080p LCD HDTV to Bravia Line

Although certainly not the largest LCD Television ever made, (that honor would go to the new

),

announced at CES the imminent availability of a new Full HD LCD HDTV in their largest size ever – 70 inches.

The biggest, baddest Bravia to date, the

features Full HD 1080p resolution, Triluminous LED backlighting, Motionflowâ„¢ 120 Hz technology with motion compensation, and Sony's new "x.v.Color" technology. X.v.color is Sony's new standard in color reproduction that is intended to widen the color gamut to better reproduce real world colors. The x.v.Color feature is simultaneously being rolled into other Sony products including their newest high definition camcorder models, also announced at CES.

According to a Sony rep, pricing of the KDL-70XBR3 is expected to be in the ballpark of $32,999 and availability is slated for March, 2007.

Also in the TV department Sony had on display an 82-inch prototype LCD TV as well as a prototype SXRD rear projection HDTV featuring laser lighting and a Slimfast-worthy svelte 10-inch depth. No word on pricing or availability of these models.
