Amazon’s Prime Day is here again, and this year the company is offering a smoking hot deal on some really nice headphones. While some audiophiles sneer at BOSE for its emphasis on marketing (and success at building an aspirational brand), there’s no denying that the company makes excellent sounding headphones. And the QuietComfort 25 noise-cancelling headphones are among their best sounding ‘phones to date.
The Quiet Comfort series uses active noise cancellation technology to dull the outside roar of a subway train or airplane engine down to a soft murmur, so you can hear the music over the noise, and hear every last detail. The ones on sale today and tomorrow (Monday, July 16th and Tuesday, July 17th) are the wired QuietComfort 25. They are compatible with virtually any mobile phone or portable media player with a headphone jack and can be used on newer iPhones with an inexpensive adapter (more on that below).

If you’re planning to use them with an iPhone 7, 8 or X, you will need a lightning to headphone adapter. Also, be sure to order the headphone version that is compatible with your phone so you’ll be able to control volume and playback as well as take calls right from the built-in control on the headphone cable itself. The cord also has a built-in microphone for audio or video calls. Amazon has both the Apple and Android/Samsung versions of the QuietComfort 25 on sale for Prime Day.
The QuietComfort 25 heaphones come with a nice travel case, a battery and an airline adapter for use with older in-flight entertainment systems on certain airlines. The included cord is 56 inches long.

These Prime Day headphone deals tend to sell out before Prime Day is over, so we’d suggest snagging a pair while you can.
