Amazon likes getting a jump on Black Friday deals for A/V gear, and a good example of that is the deal they just posted on a feature-packed home theater receiver from Yamaha. The Yamaha RX-V683BL is available now for just $299.99 with free shipping. That’s a savings of $350 from its list price. Here’s a link:

Although it was introduced last year, the RX-V683BL is compatible with the latest audio and video formats including HDR 10, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. So whether you want the best Ultra HD picture quality or the coolest height-enhanced immersive surroun sound, this receiver has got you covered. And in case you want to integrate it with a digital assistant, the receiver is certified by Amazon as a “WORKS WITH ALEXA” product. So you can access your music and adjust the volume (among other things) with your Amazon Echo, Dot or Spot.
As far as specs, go, the RX-V683 pumps out up to 90 watts per channel with 7.2 channels (seven speakers plus two subwoofers). You can configure it for a traditional 7.1 or 7.2 surround system or put two speakers on the ceiling for a height-enhanced 5.1.2 or 5.2.2 immersive surround sound system. The receiver also includes a zone two output in case you’d like to listen to music ot TV audio in a different room.
Yamaha is known for their sound quality so you’ll find no shortage of support for digital and High Res Audio formats including DSD, FLAC, WAV, AIFF and Apple Lossless. The receiver also supports Yamaha’s Musicast whole home audio solution so you can network your audio to different areas of your home. There are six HDMI inputs and one output with support for UltraHD (4K) resolution at up to 60 frames per second (4K/60P). It even has a phono input so you can hook up a turntable and spin your favorite vinyl records.
