Only the truly adventurous go into Black Friday shopping without a plan. That’s not a challenge, people. However, you should know that it’s also not restricted to shopping in stores. The day can be downright confusing!
That’s probably why Polk Audio and Definitive Technology have spread out a slew of speaker deals that will come and go from now through the end of the year.
If you want to get some of that shopping wrapped up right away, there are three sales that are going on now through December 3, 2016, For instance, you can save $300 off the Omni SB1 Plus soundbar, which brings the price down to $399.95. The company is also slashing $200 off the MagniFi soundbar/subwoofer package (which lists at $499.95) and bringing the cost of the MagniFi One down $75, making that just $224.95. On Thanksgiving Day (November 24), Polk will start slashing 20 percent off two SurroundBar products, the 9500 BT and the 5000 Instant Home Theater. Both models come packaged with a wireless subwoofer. The 9500 packs three 0.5-inch silk dome tweeters, five 2.5-inch midrange drivers, and Bluetooth support into a 44.75-by-3.9-by-2.7-inch speaker bar. The SurroundBar 5000 has two 2.5-inch full-range drivers, two rear-firing ports, and Bluetooth in a cabinet that measures 31-by-3.9-by-2.5 inches. Polk is also offering the T Series for 50 percent off its list price. There are three models in the T Series, including the T50 Tower Speaker, the T30 Center Speaker, and the T15 Bookshelf Speaker. The T50 (MSRP: $149.95) has a 1-inch silk dome Dynamic Balance Wave Guide Tweeter, 6.5-inch extended-throw composite Dynamic Balance Drivers, and two 6.5-inch composite sub bass radiators. The T30 (MSRP: $112.47) has the 1-inch tweeter and two 5.25-inch drivers, as well as a rear-firing bass port. Wrapping up the T Series is the T15, which is sold in pairs for a list price of $99.95. These have a 5.25-inch woofer with rubber surround and a 0.75-inch tweeter with a neodymium magnet.

If you’ve had your eye on Definitive Technology speakers, that side of the business will have its share of sale items as well. From now through December 31, 2016, when you buy a two BP9060 or BP9040 tower speakers, you will get the CS9060 center-channel speaker for free. The company is also offering a free CS9040 center with the purchase of two BP9020 towers.
Priced at $1,099 each, the BP9060 is a bipolar tower speaker with a forward-focused speaker array, including an integrated 10-inch powered subwoofer and two bass radiators. Measuring 44.5 inches high, each BP9060 has a frequency response of 18Hz – 40kHz and a sensitivity rating of 92dB.
The BP9040 is very similar, but features an integrated 8-inch powered subwoofer. Measuring 38.25 inches high, this model has a frequency response of 22Hz – 40kHz, a sensitivity rating of 92dB, and an MSRP of $899 each. It’s also Dolby Atmos certified and DTS:X compatible.
And finally, the BP9020 packs the forward-focused bipolar array and an 8-inch powered sub into a slick cabinet that measures 34.75 inches high. It’s got a frequency response of 28Hz – 40kHz, a sensitivity rating of 92dB, and an MSRP of $649 each.
