Win Chinatown on Blu-ray, Signed by Screenwriter Robert Towne

In 1974, Robert Towne penned the screenplay for a little film called “Chinatown.” The following year, Mr. Towne accepted an Academy Award for that very same screenplay. And now Big Picture Big Sound readers have the opportunity to win an autographed copy of “Chinatown” on Blu-ray Disc, signed by Robert Towne.

Directed by Roman Polanski, “Chinatown” was nominated for a total of 11 Academy Awards, but Mr. Towne’s Oscar was the film’s only win. The film earned nearly universal praise from critics and movie-goers alike and even earned a spot on the American Film Institute’s coveted list of the top 100 films of all time.

When Chris Chiarella reviewed the Blu-ray Disc, he praised the restored and remastered 2.35:1 picture as well as the remixed lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 channel surround sound track. “The track displays an enjoyable, enveloping spread around the home theater,” said Chris. And for those who prefer the original mono soundtrack, that’s here too, also in lossless Dolby TrueHD.
