Space Cowboys Review
Clint Eastwood assembles a cast of familiar been-around-the-block macho legends for a light-hearted look at space ageism which is fun, but never quite matures to its full potential.

Worth it just for its ingenious use of profanity and full of better characters than most Hollywood fare. How this thing got an R rating I’ll never know. Manages to be both amazingly stupid and clever at the same time.
Thoroughly and surprisingly likeable romantic comedy – despite the terrible title – for the Viagra set from Nancy Meyers doesn’t leave anything in charm’s way thanks to comfy performances by Jack and Diane.
Fearless pan-genre director Steven Soderbergh takes on both Stanislaw Lem’s sci-fi novel and Andrei Tarkovsky’s revered 1972 vision with mixed results. George Clooney and Natascha McElhone are strong, but the film wants to be too moving for its own good.
Hong Kong filmmaker Corey Yuen could teach the Americans a thing or two about directing fight scenes, now if he could only find a script worth paying attention to. This story of three beauties (one good vs two bad) involved in some kind of nebulous corporate espionage delivers the appropriate mayhem, but amounts to little more than an episode of ‘Charlie’s Asians.’
Woody Allen shows that he can still bake a light comic confection with this story of two lovable losers who find out they’re unlucky at crime, but lucky in love.
Director Tim Burton creates films with a visual texture that is palpable.
Writer, director and MAC enthusiast Kerry Conran’s four-year labor of love is a CGI spectacular which, despite eye-popping art direction and special effects, never quite takes off.
Every once in a while, there’s a movie that lives up to its hype. This is one of those times.
It’s bad enough being a small, quiet eleven-year-old – the only child of an overworked single mother – without having visions of dead people.
