If you want to do a 3D home theater, you’re going to need a 3D-capable projector. A flat panel, even at 65 or 70 inches just doesn’t cut it to bring home that big screen theatrical feel, particularly if you like watching CinemaScope widescreen movies. But 3D-capable home theater projectors aren’t particularly cheap, and the less expensive ones aren’t the highest performers.
One exception is Panasonic’s PT-AE7000U 3D 3LCD Home Theater Projector: a full high definition 1080p projector with support for full HD 1080p resolution both in 2D and 3D mode. But it’s not an easy projector to find on sale. Thanks to B&H and their Thanksgiving/Black Friday sale, you can score this coveted projector for a sweet discount. Instead of the list price of $3499.99 or even B&H’s regular discounted price of $2999.99, you can score one of these high performance projectors for a low $2699.99. Here’s the link:

Although we haven't tested the projector yet (still waiting for our review sample), we have seen it in action at trade shows and have been impressed by its ability to throw a bright detailed image, even in 3D mode. Evan Powell over at ProjectorCentral has
reviewed the PT-AE7000Uand granted it a rare 5-star score, all across the board (performance, value, features, etc.). If you're trying to put together a high-end home theater, without unlimited resources, the PT-AE7000U

Its use of active 3D glasses (the same ones used by Panasonic's 3D TVs) assures that it maintains full HD 1080p resolution, even in 3D mode. It also includes a unique "Zoom Memory" feature that allows you to use the projector with fixed height screens. In other words, by pressing a button, you can have the image from your Blu-ray 3D player or other source completely fill your 2.35:1 or 2.4:1 Cinemscope screen without black bars at the top and bottom and without the need for an expensive anamorphic lens or external processor.
