Instead of waiting, wondering and/or pausing that movie, Sony wants to make some of those nagging questions part of your entire home entertainment experience. The studio
just announcedmovieIQ, an in-movie information service that will be included in some of Sony's upcoming BD Live-enabled releases.
Gracenote is helping to deliver the new content, through its Video Explore solution. If you've got a movieIQ-enabled Blu-ray Disc and a internet-connected Blu-ray player, you'll be able to check out cast and crew tidbits, as well as production facts and music and soundtrack information — all of which is tied to scenes within the movie.
"We know many people interrupt their movie-watching experience to look up the filmography of an actor or to find out more about a song playing in the background," said Lexine Wong, Senior Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. "Now through movieIQ, movie lovers can dive into constantly-updated information about the movie they are watching without leaving their sofa, further enhancing the experience of watching movies in this always-connected age."
The first Blu-ray titles to include the movieIQ feature will hit this September. It will be offered on all major catalog releases and new releases. The studio cited

sex, lies, and videotapeas some of the first movieIQ-enabled titles.
