Amazon likes to mix things up on Black Friday. Well actually before Black Friday… way before Black Friday. And this year is no exception. If you’re looking for deals on Amazon’s popular devices such as Echo, Dot, Show, Spot and more, you don’t have to wait. These deals are already live and available on Amazon. More will come closer to Black Friday (and beyond), but the deals on these particular products are unlikely to get much better.
The only problem with buying one of Amazon’s Alexa-enabled voice-controlled speakers, is you’re going to want more. That Echo in the kitchen that allows you to listen to NPR, play Jeopardy, check the weather and traffic and control your smart home appliances and lights is the gateway drug to a home full of such devices. And this year, you can also choose devices with built-in screens which is handy if you want to see who’s at the front door from your bedroom, or see what set off that motion-sensitivee light in the backyard, from your living room.
The simplest of the Amazon speakers (and the least expensive) is the Echo Dot. It offers full control of an Alexa-enabled smart home, and can play music, but because of its small size, it’s not going to rock the room. For that you can plug in external speakers (or headphones) or you can choose one of the larger Echo devices. But for waking up in the morning, checking the wweather or listening to talk radio, the Echo Dot is a fine choice. It normally sells for $49 each, but Amazon is offering a 3-pack for $69.97 for a total savings of $80. There’s also a kids’ version available in funky colors for $99.97 for the three pack (save $110). You can mix and match the colors.
Important tip! For most of these items, in order to see the discounted price, you need to add the appropriate amount of items to your cart. For a three pack of Dots, add three Dots to your cart and then you’ll see the discount applied in your cart at checkout time.

If you want a larger speaker with more powerful sound, the second generation Amazon Echo is for you. It can even pair with the new Echo Sub for more powerful, room-filling sound. Also, Amazon added the option to link two Echos with each other as a stereo pair, so you’ll get more realistic high fidelity stereo sound. An upgraded version, the Echo Plus, adds a temperature sensor (aka thermometer) and an integrated smart home hub for direct control of compatible smart home devices. Amazon’s current deals offers a pair of either of the Echos with a matching Echo Sub in a bundle that saves you $80 to $100. So for about $250 you can get a nice-sounding fully wireless voice-controlled stereo sound system for a den or bedroom.

If you prefer that your smart speaker have a screen, for video surveillance, doorbell monitoring or video chat, there are a couple of choices for this as well. The new improved Echo Show is like a mini tablet on a stand. It offers both voice control and a touch screen for maximum flexibility. The latest version has a much larger screen than it predecessor which is great for seeing the details in cooking videos or video calls. The new Echo Show is available now in a 2-pack for $340, saving $120 off the regular price. The per-unit cost of this two-pack is even lower than what Amazon will offer single units for on Black Friday.

A smaller more discrete option for video is the Echo Spot. It’s not much larger than a Dot, but includes a small screen so you can see who’s at the door or check on the baby in the nursery. On the entertainment side of the house, you can basically get a free Echo Dot when you purchase an Amazon FireTV Stick. The FireTV stick is a tiny little thing that can plug into any HDMI port turning your not so smart TV into aSmart TV with streaming from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime (of course) as well as hundreds of other streaming providers.
