Hot on the heels of last month’s introduction of the AVR-X1300W and AVR-X2300W, Denon Electronics is unleashing another receiver possibility for your home theater. The 7.2-channel AVR-X3300W will start shipping sometime next month.
Denon is calling the newest member of the X Series a “grown-up home cinema center.” That’s because it’s packed with all sorts of high-tech goodies. Designed for larger spaces, the AVR-X3300W boasts 105 watts per channel (8 ohms, 0.08%THD, 20Hz~20kHz) and a low impedance drive capability.
It also includes Dolby Atmos decoding out of the box (up to a 5.1.2 configuration). That means you can pair this receiver with seven speakers (and a subwoofer) to experience audio from every angle, including above. If you’re looking for even more immersive audio options, Denon says that the AVR-X3300W will be eligible for a free DTS:X upgrade later this year. Also worth mentioning is that this model has Dolby Surround and DTS Neural: X upmixers (via update) to create 3D sound from both legacy Dolby or DTS material.
Of course, the AVR-X3300W was made for 4K, packing in the latest HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 specifications on all eight of the receiver’s HDMI inputs. It even has 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR), 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through support on every input. Since that 4K experience can spoil you, know that the AVR-X3300W can upscale standard and high-definition analog and digital video content to a near-4K Ultra HD resolution.
Other AVR-X3300W features include Imaging Science Foundation certification and ISFccc advanced video calibration, as well as Audyssey MultEQ room calibration. It also has a ton of networking options via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, high-resolution audio support, multiroom capabilities, two HDMI outputs, a 7.2ch pre-out section, and an RS-232 port.
At last peek, the AVR-X3300W wasn’t available for pre-order yet, but that should be coming any day now. When it pops up, you can expect this receiver to be priced at $999.
